Crude And O'Reilly

Today, the crude oil price dropped below $60 per barrell. I am no expert on oil but could the price fluctation, this time downward, have anything to do with market forces? Or is Bill O'Reilly right that the powerful oil company CEO's are just toying with our wallets? Sometimes they take more of our money and sometimes, just for shits and giggles, they decide to lose money and lower the price. It is hard to figure out why price gouging is not a constant thing.

For more on Bill's lack of knowledge about the oil and gas world and economics in general, read Alan Reynolds' "The Foolish Factor".

I used to watch O'Riely almost every day, starting with his first season on Fox News. But I stopped watching a couple of years ago. He's too much of a buffoon sometimes, especially when he discusses anything about business, the economy, or the internet. (Ever notice how his nose curlse up, as if he is sniffing an unpleasant odor whenever he talks about the "internet".) The only reason to watch him was when there were few other news source for a lot of the stuff on his show (which wasn't covered by other MSM outlets), but now-a-days most interesting news/angles are on the blogs long before they ever show up on his show.

The only television news/commentary I watch now is Kudlow and Company. One of the things I apreciate about Larry Kudlow, is he is an avid blog reader, so he always up to speed with what is being discussed on the internet and brings it into his show regularily.

I agree with capitalistpig (hey, he agrees with me!) except I have to give Bill the credit that on every topic he gets the real stars to comment. To hear my side of an argument represented by Alan Reynolds or another top-line player on other topics is a treat. Face it, there is no otherr side ably represented on most shows.

That is why I also love Kudlow's show. He talks econ with the heavyweights.

I have been skipping Hannity even tho they have star-drawing power because in the 10 minutes I hear Sean in the car, I know what he will say that night. Of course, I will watch his show if Coulter is on. While over the top at times, I can't get enough of seeing a sexy blonde skewer the softies from the Left.
