Queers and Quranists
Bret Stephens discusses the odd alliance between the liberal Left and Islamists. While the former enjoy freedoms never allowed citizens throughout history and the latter finds such freedoms anathema, they have combined to thwart responsible methods of defense proposed and utilized by the U.S.
From the group Queers Undermining Israeli Terrorism to university professors to atheistic pacifists, the anti-war coalition can feel morally superior in its opposition to any war ("war is only a last resort" and when is that last moment again?) and the government's actions to avoid "another 9-11" without facing the prospects of an Islamist victory. While the West allows gay pride parades, open discourse of ideas without imprisonment and open atheism, any of the above are deemed heretical to Muslim law and the apostate can expect sure death under Sharia law.
Those fulfilling their Constitutional mandate to protect U.S. citizens are continually hampered in that effort by the very people most benefited by those efforts. Ironic.
