Saddam-WMD Connection Being Proved; Liberals Missing Another One

Reader Martin Goldberg comments of MSM silence on the developing Saddam-Al Qaeda/WMD information trove being analyzed as reported by Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes. Martin writes:

Perhaps it is an exercise in futility to continue to speak the truth - that every major intelligence agency in the world - even France's - believed that Saddam did indeed possess such weapons and that the president relied on the intelligence available to him at the time.

Now we have one of Saddam's top generals coming forward and stating that his boss did indeed have such weapons and had shipped them to Syria just before the U.S. invasion. Naturally the mainstream media has shown no interest in pursuing this story. After all, it demolishes the Bush-lied propaganda campaign.

Do You Stand For Anything?

Mark Reynolds writes about the Democrat actions/inactions during the Bush SOU speech this week:

Peggy Noonan wrote:"Exactly half the chamber repeatedly leapt to its feet to applaud this banality or that. The other half remained resolutely glued to its widely cushioned seats. It seemed a metaphor for the Democratic Party: We don't know where to stand or what to stand for, and in fact we're not good at standing for anything anyway, but at least we know we can't stand Republicans."

Ain't it the truth? What do the Dems stand for these days?

Where is their solution for Social Security? What is their answer as to how to protect us from the terrorist threat? How will they solve the problem of America's failing schools (hint: more science teachers is not the answer)? They do not have answers, except that they hate republicans, particularly Bush (who continues to annoy me too. How about stiking to the people that got you elected? SOU speech was more spending and a reference to Bill Clinton. Did he expect standing ovations from the left. It's like naming the Justice Dept building after RFK and expecting EMK (the "M" standing for manslaughter) to be gratful.)

SOU Speech- Kaching!

Regarding Bush's SOU speech last night, besides making sure we were aware of how soft on terrorism (its detection and destruction) the Democrats are, I heard the usual presidential spending spree with grandiose predictions. Remember how Clinton was going to end urban violence by midnight B-ball games? At least that did not cost much.

Bush suggested that he would produce enough scientists from this crop of students in America by hiring 90,000 new math and science teachers. OK. Where is he going to find the students able to understand the rudiments of math and science? Are they coming from the American public school system? There will have to be thousands of charter schools and vouchers before those Einsteins can locate enough students, per this non-math major's calculations 90,000 teachers x 25 students equals 2.25 million educated students. How are the students produced in the feel good, ego-grat lower grades going to understand math and science, where there really are correct and incorrect answers?

Just askin'.
